Backing Queensland youth
Good Grub Club
The Good Grub Hub webseries follows a project to paint and graffiti a food van in collaboration with young people Anita, Cherice, Lilli, Ethan, Raymond and Sara under the guidance of Graffiti Artist Davey Mac aka ‘Teazer’. Youth worker Lauren Tucker takes them through simple and safe ways to prepare, cook and serve nutritious meals. Each of the young people talk about their personal journey of homelessness – the good, the bad and the ugly. What they hope to learn from their experience and what they hope to achieve.
Watch their storyTalking about mental health through art
This webseries pairs experienced and emerging artists together to create a work of art in eight hours – with only a one-word brief around themes of mental health. As each artist had experience with mental health challenges, powerful conversations emerged from their creations.
You don’t want to miss the magic they created in our eight-hour challenge for Arts&Minds by Anglicare.
Watch all episodesThe six-week auction
Over six weeks, six people living with mental health challenges created uniquely personal artworks. Bidders competed for each piece in a live auction as it ‘hung’ across Brisbane on the GOA Digital Billboard Network. Proceeds from the sales were donated to Anglicare’s mental health and wellbeing initiatives. This world-first initiative culminated with a black-tie charity event showcasing the artists and their works of art.
