Anglicare Southern Queensland provides a range of programs that are designed to improve your overall mental and physical health and wellbeing. Maintaining strength, fitness, flexibility and balance in your older years, is an important part of being able to stay living independently in your home for as long as possible. These programs aim to do just that, while providing an opportunity to meet new people and remain socially connected.
Group Fitness, Health and Wellbeing Classes
Anglicare Southern Queensland’s group fitness, health and wellbeing classes are a great way to stay active and social. Some of the classes offered include:
- Strength and balance classes
- Hydrotherapy
- Lungs in Action – for clients with respiratory and cardiac disease
- Brain and Body Program
- Mindfulness, Motivation and Meditation
- Gen Fit – for clients with Parkinsons Disease and early on-set Dementia
- Nutrition
- Foot Clinics
What are the benefits?
The benefits of exercise can include the prevention and management of medical issues such as cardiovascular diseases, cancer and diabetes, and reduces symptoms of depression and anxiety, enhances brain health, and can improve overall wellbeing. Additionally, benefits may include:

How to access health, fitness and wellbeing programs
A small fee applies for Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) funded clients.
Home Care Package clients are usually fully funded – discuss your details with your Client Liaison Officer.
If you are not eligible for funding, or waiting for your funding to begin, we can still provide services for you under a fee-for-service arrangement.
