Providing funds to assist Queenslanders in need

EVERY year individuals and businesses go above and beyond assisting Anglicare Southern Queensland with vital funds to help those in need.

Without them, we wouldn’t be able to support as many people as we do, so we would like to thank MAK Water for their generous donation which will go towards helping children in foster care.

Founded in 2003 in Western Australia as a water treatment reliability and maintenance specialist, MAK Water has developed into a leading Australian water treatment systems manufacturer, service and maintenance provider, offering a wide range of standard and customised water, industrial wastewater and sewage treatment solutions to all industry sectors.

MAK Water Queensland Branch Manager Jon Keenan-Smith said it was important to give back to not-for-profit organisations such as Anglicare who are doing excellent work within the community.

“The main reason for us was hearing stories about children in foster care. We’re all very fortunate for the most part to have stable families, but that’s not the case for everyone,” Mr Keenan-Smith said.

“We saw Anglicare and all the work that they do to support children that are in that very unfortunate position and it’s a cause that is very important to us and we’re very happy to get behind it.”

MAK Water’s in-house engineering and fabrication teams deliver a high standard of quality, safety and reliability. With service offices Australia-wide, their national footprint ensures the highest level of operational support for our clients.

With more than 4,000 systems installed throughout Australia and internationally, MAK Water delivers smart, Australian made water treatment solutions worldwide.

“We identified as a leadership group a few years ago that it was all good and well to point to your bottom line and how much money you’re making, but to be able to have taken stock of that and be able to set aside some of that funding to support community groups that might not be as fortunate as us, so it is very important to give back and we are happy to support Anglicare who are doing excellent work in the community,” he said.

Anglicare is one of Queensland’s most trusted community services and health care organisations. Founded in 1870 as the Brisbane Women and Infant’s Refuge, it has grown into an inclusive and diverse not-for-profit charity delivering a broad range of services, including aged care, foster care, homelessness support and mental health and family counselling.

More than 50,000 Queenslanders are empowered by Anglicare Southern Queensland every year.

Anglicare Southern Queensland’s Head of Fundraising and Events Tiffany Berg thanked MAK Water for their generous donation.

“I’d like to thank Jon and the team at MAK Water for choosing to donate to Anglicare,” Tiff said.

“With so many children in hardship right now in Queensland, every dollar goes a long way and we’re really appreciative of the support MAK Water provides us so that we can deliver much needed services to those in need.”

Thank you so much to Jon and the team at MAK Water for donating to our foster care services.
