Here are the most frequently asked questions we receive about our Family Intervention Service.

Family intervention facilitates a safe and stable environment for children and young people. It focuses on parenting skills improvement, relationship building, and addresses safety concerns raised by Child Safety Services.

The main purpose of the Family Intervention Service is to assist families in creating a safe and nurturing environment for their children.

No, there are no costs for this service.

We talk to Child Safety about the work we do with you. If we get worried about you or your family, we must tell Child Safety.

We may ask you if we can talk to other people about your family (like your daycare). We will only do so if you say it’s OK.

We make notes about the work we do with you, and you can ask to see these notes at any stage. These notes are kept for 10 years and are confidential. We won’t show them to anyone without your approval unless we have to show them to someone by law.

We will prepare a report for Child Safety. You will have the opportunity to review the report and add anything you would like to add before the report is submitted.
