Our Purpose, Vision, Mission & Values

We show up every day to make a difference, because when we act with love, care, hope, and humility, we don’t just change lives, we change the world.

Our Purpose

For over 150 years, Anglicare Southern Queensland has been walking alongside the most vulnerable, ensuring that no one is alone or left behind. Through care, advocacy, and support, we empower people to find the strength and hope to create lasting change in their lives.

At Anglicare, we turn to compassion, turn to knowledge and turn towards action, so people can turn to us when they need it most.

Anglicare's Purpose, Vision, Mission and Values

Our Vision

We see a future where compassion leads, justice prevails, and everyone has the support, dignity, and opportunity to thrive. Our vision is to create a more loving, just, and inclusive society, inspired by the life and teachings of Christ.

Our Mission

As part of the Anglican Church Southern Queensland, we share in Christ’s mission to proclaim the good news of the Kingdom of God and to walk alongside those in need.

Every day, our team of dedicated staff and volunteers live out this mission by:

  • Serving with love and humility, ensuring that each person we support is treated with dignity and respect
  • Offering compassion and care, through services like aged care, youth support, mental health counselling, and homelessness programs
  • Advocating for the most vulnerable, working to ensure fairer policies, better support systems, and a stronger, more connected community
  • Striving for exceptional outcomes, not just in the care we provide, but in the long-term impact we make in the lives of individuals, families, and communities.

We believe that walking alongside those in need means more than just being present. It means acting, supporting, and uplifting, so that together we can create lasting change.

Our values

Our work is rooted in faith, love, and a deep commitment to humanity. Inspired by the words of Micah 6:8, “He has told you, what is good: and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?,” we uphold these four core values: Love, Care, Hope, Humility.

These values guide every decision we make, every service we provide, and every life we touch. They are the foundation of who we are, what we do, and why we exist.

Love

We choose love by treating every person with compassion, kindness, and dignity, ensuring they feel valued and supported.

Care

Care is at the heart of what we do. We provide generous, thoughtful, and professional support to those in need, taking personal responsibility to make a real difference.

Hope

We believe in possibility. With enduring faith in the strength and resilience of people, we help them move forward, even in the toughest of times.

We serve with gratitude and humility, recognising the privilege of caring for others and striving to honour their journey with respect and integrity.
