The power of clothes
Clothing is more than just fabric; it’s an expression of identity and self-worth. Wearing clothes that reflect one’s personal style can boost self-esteem and help individuals to face life’s challenges.
Our Thread Together services are designed to not just provide clothing, but to meet a basic human need in a dignified and respectful way, and enable people to make personal choices, without judgement, that reflect their unique needs and personality.
Services
Our Thread Together services include:
- A ‘mobile wardrobe’ (van), which visits nearly 40 sites all around Greater Brisbane and sometimes beyond.
- A clothing hub at St Andrews that offers a dignified retail experience, providing an environment in which individuals can choose new clothing that suits their personal needs and preferences.
Who can benefit
The Thread Together mobile wardrobe and clothing hub supports a diverse range of individuals and families, including:
- People experiencing homelessness
- Refugees and new arrivals
- Young people at risk
- Individuals and families recovering from natural disasters
- Those facing financial hardship.
How the program works
Our ‘mobile wardrobe’ (van) visits a wide range of community organisations and churches across Greater Brisbane by prior arrangement. If your service supports individuals and families who are doing it tough, please contact us to arrange a visit.
Our referral-based clothing hub, located at St Andrew’s Anglican Church in Indooroopilly, operates on Monday mornings by appointment only. Case workers and coordinators can use our booking form to make an appointment for individuals and families to select from a range of new clothes in a supportive environment.

- Donate: Financial contributions to Thread Together help us maintain and expand our services.
- Partner: We welcome conversations with community organisations and others who support people who are currently doing it tough.
By getting involved, you’re helping to make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals and families in our community, providing a hand up at a time when it’s needed.
Through our Thread Together partnership, we’re weaving threads of hope, dignity, and new beginnings.
