Consumer Advisory Body

We have established a Consumer Advisory Body made up of people who use our aged care services, their carers and family members.

Joining provides an opportunity for you to share feedback, insights, and ideas that help improve the quality and delivery of services, directly with Anglicare leadership.

What is expected of you?

As a member, you’re expected to represent your service by sharing feedback on the quality of care you and others receive. If you can, speak with others to gather their views, to pass this on to Anglicare on their behalf.

Every 12 months, you’ll be asked to review how the advisory body is working. This helps ensure it’s running smoothly and that you’re getting the most out of your involvement.

You’re encouraged to attend the annual Consumer Advisory Body meeting (held online or in person) to share your feedback directly with Anglicare’s governing body. Throughout the year, you can request additional meetings with the Client Experience team as needed.

How is the feedback used?

The purpose of the Consumer Advisory Body is to provide valuable feedback to the Anglicare governing board about the quality of care and services, so we can use this to shape the way your care and services are run.

When you provide feedback, Anglicare will:

  1. Consider all feedback received when making decisions.
  2. Provide written communication back to Consumer Advisory Body members, explaining how their feedback has been used.

Unless requested, all feedback shared will be anonymised.

Who can join?

Every 12 months, we will write to all care recipients and their representatives to seek interest in participating in a consumer advisory body. The advisory body is made up of current aged care consumers in residential or home and community care, and the carers or close family members of those receiving our services.

We welcome an inclusive Consumer Advisory Body, including people who live with dementia or disability, as well as First Nations people; people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds; and LGBTQIA+ people.
