We understand the importance of cultural identity
We respect the cultural identity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their right to stay connected to their community.
When it isn’t possible to maintain a connection with the child’s family and community, our Brisbane-based cultural support workers help non-indigenous foster carers and staff to learn about the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander foster children in care, supporting them in a holistic way that values their family, spiritual, community and personal needs. The team also empowers young people to develop a strong sense of identity through activities that celebrate their culture.
