About HAS funding
HAS provides practical support for minor home maintenance, repairs, and modifications, including installing grab rails, fixing locks, or improving home security. It is designed for seniors and people with disabilities who cannot afford or manage these tasks on their own.
Eligibility and application process
To qualify for HAS, you must be:
- Aged 60 years or older (or any age with a disability)
- Hold a Pensioner Concession Card
- Unable to complete home maintenance tasks independently.
Applications are submitted directly through HAS providers.
Is this funding option suitable for me?
HAS is ideal if you need minor safety modifications to remain independent and safe at home but are unable to perform or afford the work yourself.
What’s included and not included?
Included:
- Home safety modifications (grab rails, security screens, ramps)
- Minor home repairs (leaky taps, locks, smoke alarms)
- Home safety assessments.
Not included:
- Major renovations (bathroom remodels, flooring replacement)
- Routine home beautification work (painting, landscaping).

- Schedule a home visit with an approved HAS provider, such as Anglicare.
