Program details

The SILS program provides support as you transition to adulthood by fostering life skills and independence within a residential setting.

The program includes:

  • Assistance from SILS staff to complete learner driver hours 
  • Support with transport
  • Increased independence and less supervision
  • Shared household responsibilities with peers your own age
  • Scaffolded support to develop skills for living independently post-18
  • Connection with services and agencies in the community to support and maintain independence post-18.

Eligibility

The SILS program is available to young people who:

  • Are transitioning from out of home care care to independent living
  • Demonstrate basic capabilities for independent living
  • Require support to build life skills and self-reliance.
