FAQs
Have you got questions about conducting research with Anglicare Southern Queensland? Review our frequently asked questions, or contact us for more information.
How long does the application process take?
It takes up to approximately 4 weeks for applications to be assessed, and for researchers to receive notification of the outcome by email. There is no guarantee that an application will be approved once submitted.
Please ensure all relevant documentation is attached with your application.
Can my research application be expedited?
Applications require internal processing (including consultation with relevant staff), and then, depending on the size and scope of the project, may require consideration by the Anglicare Research Governance Committee (RCG). The RGC usually meets every fortnight although there may be unavoidable changes or delays to this timeframe.
While we do our best to expedite applications in exceptional circumstances, we cannot guarantee a faster turnaround.
Does Anglicare have an Ethics approval process?
Anglicare recognises approvals provided by formally constituted Human Research Ethics Committees, and there is no additional Ethics process.
Our internal research governance process addresses Anglicare-specific issues such as the nature and extent of in-kind contributions being requested, risks and benefits, media implications, and plans for dissemination of the research findings to our staff.
Is there an appeal process if my application is declined?
We’ll let you know early in the review process if it is unlikely that your proposal will be supported. We’ll also advise you of other options for conducting your research. When Anglicare declines an application, it’s usually because the proposed study doesn’t align with our current strategic or research priorities, and/or because it will impact adversely on the time and resources of clients and staff. You’re welcome to submit a new or revised application in response to our feedback and comments.
