Carer support

Caring for someone can be demanding, and everyone needs time to rest and rejuvenate. Our free carer support services provide practical and emotional support, and expert guidance, so you can continue to provide the best possible care for your loved one while looking after yourself too.

How we can help

Providing care for a loved one is a fulfilling role, but it’s important to take time for yourself too. We offer a range of carer support services designed to help you rest, recharge, and feel confident in your caregiving journey. From respite care and dementia support to counselling and pastoral care, we’re here to support you every step of the way.

Caring for you, so you can help care for them.

Being a carer is an act of love, but it can also be overwhelming without the right support. Our carer services give you the time, guidance, and respite you need to rest, recharge, and continue caring with confidence.

Type of Carer Respite

Our respite care allows carers to take a break, while ensuring your loved one is safe, engaged, and supported in a welcoming environment.

We offer:

The importance of self care

Caring for a loved one can take a lot of energy, both physically and emotionally. To care for someone to your full ability, you also need to look after yourself. This means making sure you eat well, exercise and take time to do the things you enjoy and give you a sense of identity – this could be work, study, volunteering or simply some ‘me time’ to just relax and run some personal errands. When you’re a full-time carer, finding this time can seem impossible, but we are here to help.

While we could never replace you, we can provide experienced and qualified respite staff to help support you. Our day respite centres allow carers to take a break with the peace of mind that their loved ones are being cared for, and engaged in appropriate, enjoyable activities.

Dementia Skills Program

Caring for someone with dementia can be challenging, but you don’t have to do it alone. Our free, six-week Dementia Skills Program is designed specifically for carers. It offers expert advice, practical skills, and a supportive community to help you navigate your caregiving journey.

What will my loved one do during the sessions?

We encourage you to bring your loved one along to our Day Respite Centre, where they will be cared for in a safe and supportive environment by our trained staff. They’ll enjoy engaging activities and refreshments while you attend the program.

What are the benefits of the Dementia Skills Program?

  • Regular respite breaks for you and your loved one
  • Learn skills and gain insights from dementia care experts
  • Access other support services and resources
  • Connect with a supportive community of fellow carers
  • A tailored care plan for your loved one.
