Understanding the aged care journey

Signs your loved one may need home care

And how to talk to them about accepting help

If you’ve noticed that your Mum, Dad or a relative haven’t been coping well, there are signs to look out for that may indicate they may need some home care support. Here are a few questions to ask yourself to help identify if home care support could support your loved one:

    – Is Mum or Dad more unsteady on their feet or has an increase number of falls?
    – Are they having difficulty with making the bed or doing the laundry?
    – Can they wash their whole body, reaching their feet and back?
    – Are they missing appointments or forgetting to take medication?

Top tip: Starting a conversation is the best place to begin. Engaging a trusted family member or family doctor can be the catalysts to get the conversation started.
