Anglicare Southern Queensland provides specialist home maintenance and modification services designed to support clients to remain living safely and independently in the comfort of their home.
Our team, comprised of experienced occupational therapists and qualified, approved tradespeople, can help you overcome safety, security and general wellbeing concerns that impact your confidence, quality of life and happiness.

Maintenance
Our team can assist with a range of maintenance and repair services to help you live safely and comfortably at home.
Services included
Maintenance services provided by Anglicare Southern Queensland
- Changing lightbulbs
- Cleaning gutters
- Essential pruning and yard cleaning
- Lawn mowing
- Changing smoke alarm batteries
- Repair of internal flooring/external access due to hazards
- Cleaning tasks at a suitable height around the home.
Included works are not to be for the beautification of your home.
Services not included
Not all maintenance services are able to be completed by Anglicare Southern Queensland. These include, but are not limited to:
- Installation/removal of garden beds
- Maintenance of watering systems
- Tree removal
- Pergolas/decking
- Repainting
- Swimming pool maintenance or repair
- Decking
- Roofs
- Beautification work and work that is the responsibility of the landlord.
Modifications
We can work with you on minor and major modifications to make your home safer and more accessible.
Services included
Modifications services provided by Anglicare Southern Queensland may include works such as:
- Lever taps
- Door handles
- Handheld shower rose
- Pathways into and around the home
- Grab rails in bathrooms
- Chair lifts and wheelchair platform lifts
- Widening of doors and passages
- Installation of emergency alarms
- Ramps.
Works cannot be for the beautification of your home and must be clinically justified and align with your age-related care needs.
Services not included
Not all modifications are able to be completed by Anglicare Southern Queensland. These include, but are not limited to:
- Floor to ceiling handrails
- Bidets (CHSP funding).

Home maintenance and modifications services cost
Government funding is available for most services via the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) and Home Care Package (HCP). Alternatively, we can provide services under a fee-for-service arrangement.
Home Assist Secure (HAS) is a service for Queenslanders aged 60 years and over, or people of any age with a disability, who can’t undertake or pay for critical home maintenance without assistance. Contact Home Assist Secure on 07 3028 4555 to learn more and get started.

We will organise a time to visit you in your home to learn more about what you need. We will then design your individual support plan and take time to explain important information, including payment options.
