Love is all around

Love is in the air. It’s the official day devoted to love and being in love – Valentine’s Day.

To celebrate the occasion, we spoke with some wise love experts from across the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast, all the way to Townsville to share some age old advice about love. Many of the couples we spoke to have been married for over 50 years.

Here are some of our favourite pieces of advice about love:

Val and Dusty, Townsville, married an amazing 68 years. Val says to be a little bit bossy!

Joan, Nambour, Married to Alick for 55 years. They were the best years of her life. Her advice: Kiss and makeup.

John, Taigum, shares his favourite quote about love “True love is a many splendor thing”.

Noreen, Nambour, Married 66 years. The advice she gives is to be kind and true to each other.

Lenore and Malcolm, Townsville, married for 60 years. Their advice is Never go to bed without saying I love you.
