Gympie Children & Families team won’t let flooding stop them

When South East Queensland experienced days of intense rainfall and flooding recently, one of the hardest hit places was Gympie.

Unfortunately, the downstairs level of our Gympie Children and Families office was flooded to a height of two metres, which has affected the Family Support Team’s office as well as the training room.

The space will be out of action for a few months, however in the meantime the Gympie team has made alternative arrangements to continue supporting our clients.

Shelli Robins (acting coordinator) and Greg Pickett (practitioner) just before they bravely entered the office (once the water had gone down) to take photos of the damage for our Property team.

The Mary River peaked at 22.8 metres on February 27, the highest level since 1893.

Pictured below is our Gympie staff sharing a much-deserved ‘thank you lunch’ to recognise their resilience and comradery during the challenging times.

Keep up the great work team.
